Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

1. Overview

PeptideWiki (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and chosen username. Passwords are never stored by us — they are handled securely by Supabase (our authentication provider).

User-Submitted Content

Experience logs and other content you submit are stored in our database and displayed publicly on the Site. Do not submit content you do not want publicly visible.

Usage Data

We may collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referral source. This is used only for security monitoring and improving the Site.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain your account
  • To display your username alongside your submitted content
  • To send account-related emails (e.g., password reset) — we do not send marketing emails
  • To detect and prevent abuse or fraud
  • To improve the Site's functionality and content

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and industry-standard security practices. We implement Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own private data.

No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. Your information is shared only:

  • With Supabase as our infrastructure provider (under their privacy policy)
  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect the rights or safety of PeptideWiki or its users

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary for authentication (session tokens). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may prevent you from logging in.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Export your submitted content

To exercise any of these rights, email us at peptidewiki.org@gmail.com.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, though publicly submitted content (experience logs) may remain in anonymized form unless you specifically request its removal.

9. Children's Privacy

PeptideWiki is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
